Look Mom!

I Had a Loose Tooth
I had a loose tooth, a wiggly, jiggly loose tooth.
I had a loose tooth, hanging by a thread.
So I pulled my loose tooth, this wiggly, jiggly loose tooth.
And put it 'neath the pillow when I went up to bed.
The fairies took my loose tooth, my wiggly, jiggly loose tooth.
So now I have a nickel and a hole in my head

(This is a song that they sing at the elementary school where the Monkey went and La will go in the fall. Found the words online here: http://www.kinderpond.com/teethunit.html )

Tooth2

And I know I have a super cute picture of the Monkey when he lost his first tooth, but for the life of me, I can't find it on my computer. Frustrating me to no end.

A whole lot of stuff

1. Here's the latest on the switcheroo - the lights from Ikea are hung and so are the bunting. La seems to really like it. I think the next things are: put the baseboards back in, get the girls book shelf into their room, find something to do with the pretend food until the little kid is out of the crib, and get rid of stuff we don't need anymore.

2. We've been putting the new quilt my Aunt Suzy made for El to good use:

Click the photos to go to the flicker page and see the whole quilt and the back. The back is this fleecy stuff with whales. Very cute and soft.

3. I've made some progress on the sweater for DH. It turns out the 7 year anniversary gift is Wool or Copper. Who knew? This is the body, using 2 hanks of the wool. I've started the first sleeve. It's still lots of fun (in a mindless way). It's Cascade 128, and I'm making the Elizabeth Zimmermann Seamless Saddle Shoulder Pullover (as described in Knitting without Tears).

4. No picture for this, but the Monkey is back from Boy Scout camp. Slightly injured in a mountain biking accident. But none the worse for wear. All the boys seemed taller and bigger and stronger as they climbed off the charter bus. Not sure how that works excatly, but I guess it's OK.

Dude. I know "real" people with blogs.

It's crazy. My friends from Kindergarten and first grade have blogs.

Steve - my friend from first grade.
Becky - my friend from Kindergarten.

And look - here's Ellie. She has friends who blog too. If you click on the picture of Ellie and Taryn to make it big, and go in to Ellie's face - that's totally a face my mom makes too.

Dude. I need run my yearbook through google.

Bye Rings

You know what used to be fun? Navigating the knitting web rings. Next, Back, Random. Exploring, finding new and interesting blogs. I felt like I had nice neighbors. Fluffy Knitter Deb (southern knitters ring). Fickle Knitter (scientist knitters ring). Dogged. (knit ring) Something changed at Ringsurf, though, and you could no longer use next and back to navigate through the rings. I emailed them, and the response was that they meant to do that. Their reasoning was that this way, you wouldn't experience broken links. However, it was no longer circular. Web Ring. Circular. You know, like a ring. Not so much anymore. The jury's still out whether I'll rejoin the new incarnation.

IOU

This is for my sister. I started it on the Friday before her birthday (a week ago). It's going to be a beach blanket. I have a neat pineapple sheet for the back. The flowers are from my collection of Grandma Mercier's fabric. The blue and green semi-solids are from fat quarter bundles at Joann's. The individual squares are 8x10. Should be quick to put together once I finish cutting out the flowers and unearth my sewing machine. (I've post-dated this post because I only sent her the card with IOU on Monday.)
