Hey Look at This!

I finished a vest for El. It's the JCasa pattern Neighborly (ravelry link).

Neighborly!

It was really fun to knit - simple but effective.

I used stash yarns - Cascade 220 for the main color (1 skein), and Needful Yarns Arte for the stripes (1 1/2 skeins). El just turned 2 and is in the 50th percentile for height (25th for weight) - this looks like it'll fit her for a while. I wanted something that would keep her belly warm, but not be too sweaty (this is Florida, after all).

I think I'm going to try the next one in CottonEase.

Happy New Year!

I can't believe Christmas break is already almost over. The Girl Scout cookie sale started here yesterday. Everyone's excited about being back at school tomorrow. I'm trying to get everything put together for the morning, but first....some FO of late...

1. I finished this quilt that I started in the spring. It's a charm pack and white muslin. I used whatever binding I had leftover and pieced it together. The back is Michael Miller polka dots. I gave it to Project Linus.

2. I made these ornaments after Christmas. They're a charm pack that I think I bought last year. For the first few, La stuffed them, but I couldn't find the stuffing, so I had her use leftover quilt batting. For the rest, I ended up just quilting them. This is about half the batch (front and back). The other half is still in my camera. Amelia won't let me give any away, because she says they are hers. I guess that's good.

3. I finished the poncho for La. She seems pretty happy about it. I need to wash it for her, but she's already worn it a couple of times. Its Cascade Eco +, Raveled here.

There's some other stuff.....an apron that I made for my niece; a batch of pajama pants that I made for La, El, and a set of family friend sibs (3); did I mention the second batch of tuxedo bibs?

And my first FO of 2010 - a Neighborly vest for El. Raveled here. It's blocking and still needs finishing, but it was delightful to knit.
